Algowid Backup & Data Redundancy Policy

Effective date: 10-Nov-2025

At Algowid Technologies, we understand the critical importance of data protection and redundancy. However, the responsibility for data security is a shared one, and it is essential that our clients also take proactive steps to safeguard their data. This policy outlines how backups are handled across different hosting services and what is expected from clients.

Unlimited Web Hosting / Cloud Web Hosting

  • We perform weekly backups using JetBackup.
  • These backups are stored on a separate backup drive for increased redundancy and protection.
  • We retain the last 4 weekly backups only. Older backups are automatically deleted as part of our data retention cycle.
  • Backups are intended for disaster recovery purposes and not for regular file restoration. Clients are encouraged to maintain their own offsite backups for added protection.

Reseller Hosting Plans

  • Due to the high number of websites hosted under reseller accounts, we do not take automated backups for reseller hosting plans.
  • It is the responsibility of the reseller to maintain their own backups using third-party storage solutions such as:
    • OneDrive
    • Google Drive
    • FTP Backup Storage
    • NAS or other external systems
  • Algowid Technologies is not liable for any data loss resulting from the absence of client-side backups on reseller plans.

Virtual Private Servers (VPS) & Bare Metal Servers

  • We do not provide backups for VPS or Bare Metal Server clients by default.
  • Clients must set up and manage their own backup systems using their preferred storage solutions:
    • OneDrive
    • Google Drive
    • FTP Backup Storage
    • NAS or other external systems
  • As the VPS and Bare Metal environments are fully managed by clients, Algowid holds no responsibility for any data loss or failure due to missing or outdated backups.
  • Clients can opt for the JetBackup License Addon. Upon activation, our team can assist in configuring JetBackup to store backups on your own backup destination.

Storage Redundancy with RAID 1 – Peace of Mind for Your Data

At Algowid, all our servers—whether powering Shared Hosting, Reseller Hosting, VPS, or Bare Metal environments—are equipped with RAID 1 (Redundant Array of Independent Disks, Level 1) configuration. This means that every piece of your data is mirrored in real-time across two physical drives. In the unlikely event of one hard drive failing, the other continues to operate seamlessly without any data loss or downtime. RAID 1 is a hardware-level redundancy solution that provides an added layer of protection, ensuring maximum uptime and resilience against disk failures. While RAID 1 does not replace the need for external backups, it significantly reduces the risk of sudden data loss due to hardware malfunction. With Algowid’s RAID 1 implementation, you can trust that your data is stored with high availability and stability at the infrastructure level.
